The Mrs. and I are planning a trip to Colorado soon and boy are we both excited. I've been to the state once back when I worked a summer at a Scout camp in northern New Mexico. My buddy Sean and I took a "Tour-de-Colorado" during a week off between getting our WFR certification and officially starting our jobs. In that week we climbed a 14'er (Blanca), rafted the Arkansas, hiked in Rocky Mountain National Park, climbed the Great Sand Dunes, visited the REI in Denver, explored Boulder and biked around the University of Colorado. It was a heck of a trip and made memories that I'll keep forever. As we're in "Tour-de-Colorado II" planing mode, I figured I'd post some old pictures (scanned 35mm) from my first trip out there.

Great Sand Dunes National Park - a truly unique location. Those specs are people hiking up the dunes.

Stopping for a break on the way up Blanca Peak.

View from half-way up Blanca.

View from the summit of Blanca as my climbing partners ascend.

Snow along Trail Ridge road in RMNP.
